eating good in the neighborhood
Connie had a $10 Applebees gift card to kill. It was about to expire, so I agree to go there with her for dinner last night. A couple of things: #1 - Kudos to their menu item description writers, the food always sounds better than it is when it arrives at the table. #2 - Walking into one of these places, the first thing you notice is the “wacky” wall decor. Seemingly random framed celebrity pictures are all over the walls. I stopped Connie on the way out to point out a picture of actor/rapper Ice-T next to a picture of Blair and Ms. Garrett from Facts of Life - an unexpected, yet brilliant pairing.
