Juniper 61

Connie and I celebrated Valentine’s Day with dinner at one of the newer restaurants on the west side, Juniper 61. Being fond of the previous tennant, Shiraz, we were interested to see what they did with the place. They completely gutted it, which was a great idea considering how dated the interior had been. Not quite lime green walls, minimal decoration — it’s a pretty plain space with a ton of seating. We went around 5:30-6:00 and were seated immediately. The place filled up very shortly after. It was a little tight. I really would have liked a little space.

Like Cafe Lulu, the menu is sandwich heavy. There were only a few entrees, but they all looked good. Connie ordered the prosciutto wrapped shrimp with gnocchi and I had the rib eye with mashed potatoes and onion rings. We shared and agreed that mine was much better. Service was great. I’ll be interested to see what they do with the back patio area in the summer.
