Mayura

I was running errands downtown this afternoon. It was around lunch time, so I needed to grab something. I stopped at Beans and Barley. It was packed and there was a wait. I drove down Farwell with the intention of going to Comet when I remembered that there was a newer Indian restaurant in the area, Mayura. That sounded good, so I gave it a shot.

They had a buffet, which isn’t usually a great measure of how good a restaurant is, but I was pretty hungry so that’s what I did. A first glace I had high hopes. There was a massive selection compared to the other Indian lunch buffets I’ve been to. The problem is the chicken and lamb dishes were dry and rough, just not good at all. Worse than that, the service. I finished and had an empty drinking glass for fifteen minutes (no lie) on the table without having one of the three servers check on me or ask if I wanted my bill. It would have been longer had I not walked over to them. The guys were standing there rearranging the liquor bottles on the shelves behind the bar. Terrible service. I really wanted to like this place, huge disappointment.
