Thoughts on 24 - the White House under siege episode

24

I love how completely ridiculous 24 is, and how far they go with the whole “suspension of disbelief” thing, but after last night, c’mon!!!

OK…just a few things.

number one: the White House is easily entered by an underwater cavern

number two: The government does a lousy job of vetting White House staff. A terrorist conspirator has been working there waiting for the day he got to shut down the security lasers (that he has easy access to) that give entry to the attackers coming in from the cavern.

number three: What’s up with the level of security being offered by the Secret Service these days?!! Once the bad guys enter the White House, the Secret Service guys just stand around in the hallways like they’re waiting to get shot.

The 24 you knew and loved died about 7 hours into season #2.

Let it go, and enjoy the ride.

Clearly the lax White House security is somehow Bill Clinton’s fault. Jack Bauer should shoot him in the knee. For America.
